Last Wednesday, the Thayer County Board of Commissioners held their  bi-weekly meeting at the courthouse.

Near the top of the agenda was a resolution to change the property tax request for the next budget year, beginning July 1.

The commissioners resolved to increase the property tax by three percent. The levy went down from 23 to 17.

The next commissioners meeting will occur at 9 a.m. at the courthouse.

Upcoming hearing

A public hearing will be held on Oct. 6 at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Room of the Hebron courthouse to solicit and allow public comments concerning the application of Roehr’s Machinery to change the land use from agriculture to commercial on a 7.432 acre tract in the NW corner of the NW1/4 of Sec 29-T3-R2, said tract of land subdivided as the Baroe First Subdivision.

Roehr’s Machinery is making this application to facilitate a new location for their business.
